Patricia L. Jakobi
Vice-president

Patricia L. Jakobi works as a Science Writer/Editor, University of Texas Medical Branch, in Galveston and co- Owner of The Good Tern Nature Store and Gallery with her husband. Prior to that Pat was a Planner at the South Dakota Department of Health, State Health Planning and Development Agency which lead to her becoming the Executive Director of Northern California Health Systems Agency in Chico, CA. She has a B.A., University of Redlands (English and Art History) and a Ph.D. from the Institute for the Medical Humanities, University of Texas Medical Branch.

Selected publications include Using the World Wide Web as a teaching tool: Analyzing images of aging. J. Educational Gerontology, 25: 581-594, 1999 and Medical science, Christian fundamentalism and the etiology of AIDS. AIDS and Public Policy, 5:89-93, 1990.

Pat serves on the executive committee of Galveston Island Nature Tourism Council and is a member of Galveston Chapter, Houston Audubon Society and Friends of Galveston Island State Park and a Volunteer with Galveston Reads, Rosenberg Library, Galveston. She and her husband live on Galveston Island.
