Trustees WantedThe Good Tern Foundation is looking for individuals to join its Board of Directors. The Good Tern Foundation is a newly registered nonprofit organization (EIN 74-3190703). The mission of the Foundation is to identify and support artists, scientists, and educators in their effort to promote better stewardship of the Earth. We believe the work of our generation is, at long last, to begin the transition from a period of human devastation of the Earth to a period of human conservation of the Earth. This belief is the essential characteristic necessary to become a Trustee at TGTF. Because some board members take strategic responsibility for specific areas of operations, the Foundation is especially interested in recruiting people with backgrounds in accounting, art, law, and events and/or program/project coordination. The Good Tern Foundation bylaws state there may be between three and fifteen Board Members. At present there are three. We hope to increase this to ten. Members from throughout the United States are encouraged to apply. The Board meets once a year in the Houston/Galveston area for a full day. Most committee work is done via the internet and/or telephone and on project locations. All submissions will be considered. The Board may invite selected applicants to attend a meeting as an observer. If you are interested in participating in this important work, please send a one page summary of your resume, highlighting relevant experience, to: George Jakobi at george-tgtf@thegoodternfoundation.org, subject line Trustee. Further information about The Good Tern Foundation can be found at http://www.thegoodternfoundation.org. If you have additional questions about the application procedure or the Foundation, please email me at the address above. Thank you for your interest. George Jakobi, President |
